A small percentage of our communication is verbal. The Mehrabian sturdy has shown that an audience remembers 55% of what they see, 38% of what they hear, and 7% of the content. Our non-verbal communication may be closer to 80% rather than the 93% indicated by the study. Either way, it’s clear it’s not so much about what you say but how you say it. This study suggests that what we say is only a fraction of our communication. Tonality and body language make up the majority of how we communicate. The point is, no matter the percentage, delivery is very important.
